Mike and his wife, Karen Turner, are pleased to announce that CMT Fire, Safety & Training Services began servicing Wyoming customers in July 2001. CMT Fire is a Wyoming owned and operated fire extinguisher service business that operates state wide. Mike’s business will focus on fire protection service and sales to residential, restaurant, ranching, oil, gas and construction industries. He has secured an Amerex Corporation distributorship which makes a top quality American fire extinguisher. His association with Amerex will make excellent fire safety protection products available to Wyoming residents, businesses and industries.
Mike has been a Wyoming licensed service technician for over twelve years. He got his start in Wyoming in the early 90’s while employed by an out-of-state fire extinguisher service company that operated in Gillette. After leaving this company, Mike established CMT Fire Services in Sublette County. His business grew and he now provides service statewide.
Mike has worked for an explosive company, on the rigs and for several seismic companies in a wide range of job duties. While a safety advisor for Western Geophysical he received extensive training in health, safety, and environment. This combined with his considerable knowledge of, and work experience in all phases of the oil fields, has led him to recognize that “Wyoming was in serious need for this type of product and service!”
The public may not be generally aware that the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) recommends annual maintenance on portable fire extinguishers. Furthermore, the state of Wyoming as well as D.O.T. and other regulatory agency fire codes require annual maintenance on portable fire extinguishers be performed by a licensed technician. Many of the fire extinguishers that he has inspected have not been check for several years.
Mike’s motto is “Your safety is my business!” Mike explains, “My business is about providing service; service that will save my customers time, money and provide the maximum in fire protection. I like to work with my customer. I can tailor my service to meet my customer’s individual needs. In most cases, I will do on site inspections, offer a 24 hour turn around on fire extinguishers needing service, and provide free pick up and delivery. This means that my customer’s employees, equipment and investment are better protected” This all translates into savings and peace of mind for CMT Fire Service customers.
